If you ride in the midwest then you understand that, although we may be a collection of many small groups of riders spread out over a large area, we are still a single community. We all know the joys and struggles of riding in a part of the country that doesn’t always have ideal terrain or a culture that embraces our sport.

Freeriding serves as a common bond which can turn complete strangers into lifelong friends. Whether it’s meeting up at events or getting together to throw some dirt, it is always good to catch up with people who share the same passion.

It is time to organize our efforts and create more progressive events, more sanctioned areas to ride, and become a more legtimate recreational pursuit in the eyes of the people who call the shots.
