Kash for Klunking

Do you really want another event t-shirt? What you really want is KASH. We are putting up large sums American dollars for the winners of our inaugural Super D event on October 18th. The purse will be at least $375 and we’ll be paying 7 places. First and second places could pay for their gas, food, and lodging (as long as you don’t live in Asia).

What is a “Super D”? It is an event that focuses on bike handling skills but with a little more endurance and a little less risk than a typical DH race. The course will drop about 300 vertical feet from start to finish and will include some short climbs so you are looking at close to 500 feet of descending. We are expecting winning times to be over 6 min. (we’ll have a course profile and some better time estimates up soon)

The highlights of the course will be a very fast flowing top part dropping into the forest where you’ll rail berms and navigate over or around logs and rocks. After several swooping turns you’ll encounter a rolling climb and a flatter section. After one more rolling climb you’ll begin one of the tightest and most technical descents in the Midwest which will leave you smiling… or screaming to the finish line.

The bike you should bring is the one you love to ride. This course is a good mix of the best parts of HPT and so any bike will do, but a bike that does it all will be best. Other than a helmet there are no safety requirements. All types of riders are encouraged to gun for the kash and I guarantee it will be a tight race with plenty of happy and rich competitors.

Event cost is only $25 and the event is hosted by Human Powered Trails of La Crosse, WI (http://www.humanpowweredtrails.com ) and is held in conjunction with the Blufflands Epic Endurance Race (B.E.E.R) held on October 17th.

More info to follow and we look forward to your participation (we are also still looking for volunteers).

This sounds like alot of fun. I've never been to an event like this before. Can anyone participate in this?
Is there a flyer or poster for this?
Location? Time? Map or directions to this place?

Just did a full course timed run and came in at 6:30 in slightly slick conditions so I'd guess winning times will be around 6 min. The course is an absolute blast from start to finish.

Full details and race format are posted at http://www.humanpoweredtrails.com
